AWS Class ERNiCrMo-10 MIG and TIG filler rods and wires are nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys which offer good performance in the welding practice. They are usually chemically composed of 62 to 65 percent Ni, 22 to 25 percent Cr and 9 to 11 percent Mo with small amounts of Fe, Mn and Si to enhance deposition activities. The end product of the weld metal has a high level of corrosion resistance and heat resistance. The mechanical properties of the weld metal are tensile strength of about 75 ksi (1/22 -520 MPa), yield strength 35-40 ksi (240-275 MPa), and elongation 35-40 percent, which implies ductility and toughness. These materials have high resistance to oxidation, stress corrosion cracking, and temperatures that result in high temperatures and this feature makes them an outstanding welding material to be used in welding the following applications: heat exchangers and other parts utilized in chemical processing equipment, aerospace, and power generation.
