What is AWS Class ER309LSi MIG and TIG Filler Metal ?
AWS Class ER309LSi MIG and TIG Filler Welding Wire and Rod are produced with the purpose of welding austenitic stainless steels to carbon steels and welding different metals. They are normally chemically composed of 23-25 percent of chromium, 12-15 percent nickel, 0.5-1 percent silicon and low carbon (less than 0.03 percent) to boost corrosion resistance and reduce carbide precipitation. ER309LSi has a tensile strength of 600-750 Mpa, yield strength of approximately 250 Mpa and elongation of 35-40 percent which is very tough and ductile. The excess silicon enhances the fluidity of the welds and minimizes porosity to make a smooth and good quality weld that can be used in the MIG and TIG welding machines.
