AWS Class ERNi-1 MIG and TIG filler metals are nickel based alloys that have been designed to weld pure nickel and nickel alloy parts. Their alloys usually have Nickel ≥ 94, minuscule quantities of Manganese ≤ 1, Copper ≤ 0.25, Iron ≤ 1.5 and trace elements to enhance weldability. Mechanical Characteristics such as tensile strength of approximately 415 MPa, yield strength of approximately 105 MPa, and elongation rate of 30-35 percent can provide it with great ductility and toughness. ERNi-1 can be effectively used where a high level of corrosion and strength is needed in terms of both welding and corrosion resistance in chemical, marine, and power generation.
