What is AWS Class ER308/308H MIG and TIG Filler Metal ?

AWS Class ER308/308H MIG and TIG filler welding wires and rods are meant to be used in welding austenitic stainless steel like 304H and 347. They are usually of C 0.04 0.08%, Cr 19 21%, Ni 9 11%, Mn 1 2, Si no more than 0.75 and Fe balance, giving them a high level of corrosion and oxidation resistance at high temperatures. The tensile strength is about 580 Mpa, the yield strength is 350 Mpa and the elongation stands at 35 percent. These wires ensure easy weldability, stable arc properties and quality/durable weld deposits.
