What is AWS Class ERCuNi MIG and TIG Filler Metal?

The AWS Class ERCuNi MIG and TIG filler metals are copper-nickel alloy, which have been developed as strong and tough with high seawater corrosion resistance. They are generally made up of Copper balance, Nickel 6070, Iron 1.5 2.5, Manganese 0.5 1.5 and traces of Silicon, Carbon, and Sulfur to improve the weldability. Tensile strength is in the range of 380480 Mpa, yield strength is about 120150 Mpa and elongation is 3040, which makes mechanical properties very ductile and very durable. ERCuNi is particularly appropriate in welding copper-nickel alloys so that it can achieve high-quality and corrosion-free joints in marine, offshore, desalination, and heat exchanger applications.
