AWS Class ERCuSi-A is a copper-silicon filler metal widely used in MIG and TIG welding. Its typical composition includes copper (Cu) 97–99% and silicon (Si) 1–2%, providing excellent corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity. Mechanically, it offers high tensile strength (≈220–250 MPa), good elongation (≈30–40%), and moderate hardness, ensuring durable and ductile welds. The alloy is particularly suited for joining copper and copper-alloys, delivering minimal porosity and smooth bead appearance. Its excellent arc stability and wetting characteristics make it ideal for precision welding in electrical, plumbing, and automotive applications.
