What is AWS Class ERCuAI-A2 MIG & TIG?

AWS Class ERCuAl-A2 MIG & TIG welding wire is a copper-based alloy containing approximately 95% copper, 5% aluminum, with trace elements of iron and manganese. This composition provides excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and good wear properties. Typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 310–380 MPa, yield strength of about 140–170 MPa, and elongation of 30–40%. The alloy offers good machinability, oxidation resistance, and is ideal for joining aluminum bronze, copper alloys, and dissimilar metals requiring high mechanical durability.
