It is very hard (4247 HRC), wears well and strong at high temperature and structural integrity is well maintained at extreme thermal and mechanical conditions. ERCoCr-C is also more resistant to abrasion, corrosion, oxidation, and galling and is therefore well suited in heavy duty applications.
