This wire is a corrosion resistant and non-magnetic. It is a chromium, nickel, molybdenum solid wire for welding stabilized and unstabilized austenitic alloys of the same type and non-magnetic steels. This OK Autrod 316LMn alloy is also used in combination with OK Flux 10.93 and OK Flux 10.99. The alloy is corrosion resistant in seawater environments at temperatures below 350 °C and has very good corrosion resistance to acids such as nitric acid. This alloy exhibits excellent impact properties, which can be achieved at low temperatures.

AWS Class ER316LMN welding wire consists of about 18% chromium, 13% nickel, and 2.5–3% molybdenum, along with a carefully controlled amount of nitrogen and low carbon content (≤0.03%). This well-balanced composition enhances resistance to intergranular and pitting corrosion, particularly in environments rich in chlorides. The wire boasts a tensile strength ranging from 550–700 MPa, a yield strength of approximately 350–400 MPa, and an elongation of 35–40%. The addition of nitrogen boosts mechanical strength and structural stability, ensuring excellent weld toughness, ductility, and corrosion resistance, whether in normal or elevated temperature conditions.
AWS Class ER316LMN welding wire is commonly utilized for welding austenitic stainless steels like AISI 316, 316L, and 316LN in settings that demand high performance in both corrosion resistance and strength. It finds its place in various industries, including petrochemical, marine, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and power generation. Typical uses involve fabricating pressure vessels, heat exchangers, chemical tanks, pipelines, and desalination equipment. The nitrogen-enhanced composition significantly improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it a reliable choice for demanding applications.
